News: New Alpha Romeo Junior Coming Soon!

Alpha Romeo are just days away from launching their latest model...

Just days post-launch under the name Milano, the latest Alfa Romeo crossover has swiftly been rebranded as the Junior due to a last-minute dispute over appropriating the name of its birthplace for the model. Despite this hiccup, the Junior moniker holds historical significance for the brand, echoing past industry incidents like Porsche renaming its 901 as the 911.

As for the car itself, the Junior marks Alfa Romeo's debut into fully electric territory, positioned as the smallest production model since the Giulietta and MiTo. It faces tough competition, notably from the Volvo EX30 and Smart #1, but Alfa aims to secure its future by blending its rich sporting heritage with contemporary Italian design.

The Junior, smaller than the Tonale, boasts a fully electrified lineup and offers a more premium alternative within the Stellantis group, alongside the Fiat 600e and Jeep Avenger. Both electric variants share a 54kWh battery, with power options ranging from 156 to 240 horsepower. Additionally, an Ibrida hybrid version with 136 horsepower is available, combining a petrol engine for the front wheels and an electric motor for the rear.

Alfa Romeo promises a range of 250 miles for the standard Elettrica, further emphasizing its commitment to sustainability. Stylistically, the Junior features iconic Alfa Romeo elements like the heart-shaped grille and muscular bodywork, infused with modern aesthetics such as vibrant colors and sleek finishes. Its assertive crossover stance, paired with notable design cues like a two-tone finish and sporty rear end, pays homage to the brand's racing legacy.

The model lineup includes the all-wheel-drive petrol/electric Ibrida, the front-wheel-drive Elettrica, and the performance-oriented all-wheel-drive Elettrica Veloce, ensuring a diverse range of options to suit every driver's preference.
