News: New BMW X5 xDrive50e Plug-In Hybrid Revealed

The new BMW X5 xDrive50e features latest generation plug-in hybrid technology, which has been completely reworked to deliver more power, efficiency and electric range.

Co2 emissions have been reduced on this model to 20g/km, meaning lower benefit in kind payments than the outgoing BMW X5 xDrive45e. 

It brings improvements in terms of performance and efficiency as the electrified SUV not only packs more power but also has a bigger battery for a greater electric range. 

BMW claims a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.6 seconds for the new BMW X5 xDrive50e, plus a nearly 25% increase in capacity by offering a usable energy of 25.7 kWh. The new model should be able to do 40 miles in electric mode, which is 10 miles more than its predecessor.

The BMW X5 PHEV now boasts a combined charging unit with support for single-phase and three-phase charging to double maximum AC charging to 7.4 kW.

Internally, the new BMW X5 xDrive50e features a fully digital iDrive control system with BMW Curved Display, this includes a 12.3 inch information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9 inch touch screen control display.

The new BMW X5 plug-in hybrid is available with an optional illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille. 

Comfort and safety have also been improved, with an expanded selection of automated driving and parking systems. 

Among the options now available are automatic Speed Limit Assist, exit warning, Active Navigation, route speed control, traffic light recognition (depending on the market), Emergency Stop Assistant, Lane Change Assistant and Merging Assistant.

Updates also include enhanced capabilities for the standard front-collision warning system, which can now also reduce the risk of a collision with cyclists, pedestrians or oncoming traffic when turning off a road.

The new BMW X5 xDrive50e will be available to lease with us soon, with the first UK deliveries expected from June/July 2023.
