News: To Celebrate Clean Air Day We're Planting Trees For Every Car Sold

Since 2021 we've planted over 500 trees to offset carbon emissions

To help our customers reduce their carbon footprint, this Clean Air Day (16th June 2022), we're committing to planting a tree for every petrol or diesel car sold.

In the past year, we've planted over 500 trees to offset the carbon emissions of customers with petrol and diesel engines.

To mark Clean Air Day, for every petrol or diesel vehicle sold until Friday 24th June 2022, we are pledging to plant a tree for each customer.

Our tree planting scheme has been a tree-mendous success locally so far. We've partnered with the Woodland Trust and local schools in Colne in a bid to make the air cleaner for our communities. The project has helped to educate 1,000's of children and support wildlife habitats while sequestering emissions.

The average petrol car in the UK emits 180g of CO2 every kilometre (or 0.6 miles), while a diesel car produces 173g of CO2/km. An average mid-size petrol car travelling 6,000 miles a year will emit 3.3 tonnes of carbon. Planting 10 trees will offset this.

We're also seeing record numbers of customers move to greener alternatives - with fully electric vehicle leases becoming a more and more popular choice.
