Global Vehicle Group (GVG) has outlined its ambitions to expand across van and car leasing, fleet management and salary sacrifice, following regulatory approval of an investment in the business by Palladian Investment Partners.
The Group comprises Global Vans, Fleet Alliance, XLCR Vehicle Management and LCV Group, which together oversee more than 70,000 vehicles, with assets under management in excess of £2.5 billion. GVG’s growth strategy is built around investing in technology and people, reinforcing its specialist businesses and ensuring that customers can more easily draw on the Group’s collective expertise.
Van and car leasing, fleet management and salary sacrifice will continue to form the core of GVG’s strategy. Collectively, these services enable the Group to serve a broad spectrum of customers, from sole traders and SMEs through to larger organisations with complex fleet needs.
Andrew Hurst, Chief Executive Officer of Global Vehicle Group, said: “We have built a Group with substantial scale and expertise across the business vehicle market. Each of our brands has strong customer relationships and specialist knowledge, and we see considerable opportunity to build on those foundations.
“Palladian’s backing gives us the support to invest for the long term. We want to help our businesses grow, develop our people and make it easier for customers to access the services they need across the Group.
“A customer’s requirements can change considerably over time. They may need additional vehicles, more support managing their fleet or help introducing salary sacrifice. We have the expertise within the Group to support those changes and want to make better use of it for our customers.”
Technology to underpin growth
Technology will play a central role in delivering this strategy. Planned developments include upgrades to the Group’s websites and digital customer journeys, as well as continued investment in its proprietary systems.
GVG is also preparing to roll out eFleet, its vehicle management and driver support platform, across all of the Group’s brands. This will provide business customers and drivers with a single, shared point of access.
The Group intends to pair this digital investment with the specialist advice and account support offered by its individual businesses, helping customers to select, fund and manage their vehicles as their requirements evolve.
Doug Oppenheim, Co-Managing Partner of Palladian Investment Partners, said: “GVG brings together established businesses with complementary strengths and a management team that understands its customers and markets.
“We see considerable potential to grow from that position. Our role is to support the team with the investment and resources to develop the business over the long term, while building on the expertise and service that customers already value.”
Alongside the announcement of Palladian’s investment, it was confirmed that Andrew Cope, formerly Chief Executive of Zenith, will join GVG as non-executive Chairman, adding further fleet industry experience to the board.
